Menstrual blood has always been associated with opposing symbols: interpreted by some as a fluid with curative properties and used in the preparation of magic potions, demonised by others as an impure and contaminating element.
Menstrual women were often relegated to cramped quarters, made prisoners of their own being. However, it is exactly by observing the cyclic nature of menstruation that a woman discovers her connection with nature and the astral bodies.
The menstrual cycle goes beyond the concept of fertility: it is a sign and tangible power of physical and intellectual renewal.
Al sangue mestruale sono da sempre associati simboli opposti: interpretato da alcuni come fluido dalle proprietà curative e utilizzato nella preparazione di filtri magici, demonizzato da altri come elemento impuro e contaminante.
La donna mestruata sovente veniva relegata in ambienti angusti, resa prigioniera del suo stesso essere.
Eppure, è proprio nell’osservazione della ciclicità del mestruo che una donna scopre la sua connessione con la natura e con i corpi astrali.
Il ciclo mestruale va oltre al concetto di fecondità: è segno e potere tangibile di rinnovamento fisico e intellettuale.
